Application and Registration

For students outside of Germany, application to the HGSFP must be made in conjunction with an application for a fellowship.

Students at Heidelberg University may submit their application at any time directly to the Central Office of the HGSFP when registering for doctoral studies in physics.

These students may, however, also start their registration through their web application for a fellowship. Please see the fellowship page for more information or register directly using the form linked to the right hand side of this page.

For students who wish to apply to the school from other universities or countries outside of Germany, application to the HGSFP must be made in conjunction with an application for a fellowship. Fellowships are advertised once yearly. Through the applications for fellowships, students will enter the admission process automatically.


Application for admission to the IMPRS-PTFS, IMPRS-QD, GRK 1940, HighRR, IMPRS-HD or HGSFP is now open

Applicants from Africa who indicate a preference for quantum dynamics, and in particular for a topic within the field of experimental foundations and applications of quantum phenomena will be considered for the Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) hosted at the HGSFP.
